Ultrasonic instrument for optimal haemostasis in laparoscopic liver surgery
With 36,000 torsional oscillations per second, the LOTUS ultrasonic shears from BOWA MEDICAL create a cutting effect and ensure optimal haemostasis.BOWA MEDICAL LOTUS laparoscopic liver resector for use on liver parenchymal tissue
The LOTUS liver resector is specifically designed for laparoscopic intervention on liver parenchymal tissue. The combination of patented torsional ultrasound technology and unique tip geometry with an enlarged contact surface achieves an optimal haemostatic effect and vessel sealing for vessels up to 5 mm. The dissection effect is slowed down.Product details:
- working length 176 mm
- straight jaws
- cross section 5.5 mm
Unique torsional ultrasound for liver surgery
In conventional ultrasonic knives, energy is directed lengthways through the tip of the instrument. This leads to high energy dissipation losses at the instrument tip and can harbour the risk of unintentional distal penetration of the tissue. The patented torsional ultrasound technology makes the LOTUS liver resector particularly efficient and safe. The energy output of the LOTUS system is transverse to the instrument. This ensures a controlled energy orientation at the instrument tip. The energy dissipation and unwanted distal penetration of the tissue are significantly reduced.
Using the ultrasound transducer
In addition to the LOTUS ultrasound liver resector, the reusable ERGO 315R sealing instrument in combination with the ARC 400 HF surgical unit and the BOWA MEDICAL argon probes complete the product portfolio in liver surgery. To use the LOTUS laparoscopic liver resector, you need the straight hand piece, laparoscopic 400 (LR4-400SD) for single use, in addition to the LOTUS Transducer. Transducers have an actual activation time of 250 minutes.
